It exists to explain how complex systems actually work — systems where outcomes emerge from incentives, constraints, feedback, and interaction, not from single causes or individual intent.
Most public writing focuses on events, opinions, or narratives. This library focuses on mechanisms.
What this library does
Each explainer is written to remove one specific confusion.
Not to persuade. Not to moralize. Not to predict.
An explainer here aims to answer questions like: - Why does this keep happening? - Why did that solution fail? - Why does a system behave this way even when people want something else?
Every topic is treated as a system, not a story.
How to read this library
You don’t need to read everything. You don’t need to read in order.
Each explainer is self-contained and designed to make sense on its own. Some readers will read one explainer and leave. Others will follow connections across topics and build deeper understanding over time.
The visible structure exists to help navigation, not to enforce a path.
What this library is not
This is not: - a news site - a blog - a course - a feed - an opinion platform
You won’t find hot takes, moral verdicts, or real-time commentary.
Events are used only as examples of underlying systems, not as the focus.
Scope (for now)
The library currently focuses on: - power - institutions - geopolitics - conflict - economic and informational systems
These domains are not the mission. They are the starting point — chosen because they expose structural dynamics clearly.
Over time, the same explanatory approach can be applied to other complex systems.
A note on values
Explaining how a system works is not the same as endorsing it.
Understanding structure does not require abandoning values. But values alone cannot explain outcomes.
This library keeps those two ideas separate — deliberately.
Why this exists
Complex systems are often treated as: - incomprehensible, - purely ideological, - or reducible to simple villains and heroes.
None of those are accurate.
